The conditional IF statements in the KJV version of the bible are replaced with unconditional SINCE statements in some other versions. There is nothing unconditional about God’s love toward us. Some of God’s Character may seem to indicate unconditionality, like long-suffering, pity, tolerance, patience, and His kindness to his entire creation in general (sometimes referred to as “common grace” or “beneficent love“. see Mathew 5:45), but these indicate how much God is seeking to save sinners. Yet today, how often you hear Christians throw around the term, “God’s Love is Unconditional”? The great gospel version, John 3:16, is also conditional requiring faith and belief for one to be saved and have eternal life. Here is a verse that does not contain an if, but implies one: Revelation 3:5 KJV

5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

Some contemporary bibles replace the word, if, with since, which makes it more Calvinist-friendly. Here are examples for Romans 6:8 (Verse Comparisons) that replace the word with since:
